Morristown Branch Prisoner of War Camp
Morristown, Indiana
The Morristown Branch Prisoner of War Camp was established on 10 acres of farm ground, approximately 3/4 mile North of Morristown.  The purpose of the camp was to provide employment for the prisoners, who at this time were German.  It eliminated the nearly 60 mile drive to and from the Main Camp at Atterbury, each day.  The men were housed in tents.  In addition to the 10 acre sight, several men also lived in tents directly to the rear of the Morristown Canning Factory.  These tents were located near the white spot behind the factory, and next to the driveway.

ARMY REQUISITIONS
FOR CANNED
Peas, Corn and Tomatoes
Are Twice as Much as Last Year
Food stocks are lower than at any time in history.

If the war is to be won, our ARMY must be fed, and there must be enough over to feed the civilians at home.

The farmer's problem is tough and so is that of the food processor.  We both got the job done last year.  Pulling together, we will get it done again this year.

We still need 100 acres of PEAS and an almost unlimited amount of SWEET CORN and TOMATOES.

Prices to the grower are the highest ever paid.

Let's get this war over by providing the necessary food to enable your boy and my boy to finish the job.

Plant a few acres of canning crops to show that boy you are backing him, and whose sacrifice is still greater than anything we can do.
